Here is my latest short cinematic “The Ritual” made using Unreal Engine 5. It was a lot of fun diving into facial mocap for this project and creating a character/rig from the ground up to support everything.

The animation is a mix of Rokoko motion library data for the body movement along with traditional keyframe animation. All of the face/eye performance was captured by myself using my iPhone and then using that to drive the blendshapes on my character.

My aim for 2022 is to keep pushing with Unreal Engine and see what it’s truly capable of as I’m only scratching the surface. The speed at which you can create content is amazing and really changes the process of how you can create a film in 3D.
